Craic-ing Cancer Concert

Organisers of the upcoming Craic-ing Cancer Concert in Aberfeldy on Saturday July 25th are hoping the evening will be a sellout success, raising money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer 2000.

Performers include Glasgow’s actress and comedienne (and past conductor of Aberfeldy Gaelic Choir) Isobel Rutter, and internationally-renowned singer and folklorist Margaret Bennett, both hugely successful performers in an Aberfeldy concert last year, and invited back by popular demand.

Also appearing will be poet and storyteller Maria Cairnie, and Aberfeldy & District Gaelic Choir.

Local folk duo (and Choir members) Kenny "Crieftan" Graham and David “Dibble” Morton will be performing, and proceedings will open with Kenny and two Edinburgh musicians in the acoustic group “The Wanton Pegs”.

The evening’s entertainment will be stitched together by well-known compere and wit, Alan Brown. It will be held in the newly refurbished Aberfeldy Town Hall on Saturday 25th July at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £10 and can be bought in advance by phoning 01887 820478 or 01887 830315. Some tickets may be available at the door on the night, but early booking would avoid disappointment.

Anyone unable to attend who wishes to make a contribution can do so at the Aberfeldy branch of The Royal Bank of Scotland. Cheques should be made payable to “Aberfeldy Friends of Breakthrough Breast Cancer”.
